Brionvega re-edition

For design addicts worldwide, Brionvega symbolizes a legendary television which adorned every mid-century living-room. A long-time symbol of modernity, this
electronic sold like hot-buns in Italy during the 50's. In the 2nd half of the 20th century, only a very few lucky collectors had the chance of owning this precious forgotten gem.
Luckily for us, brothers Marco and Carlo Asquini decided to buy Brionvega and soon after released re-editions of two models, adding a modern version named 'Alpha'; a sleek LCD screen with integrated DVD player and a remote control which on it's own defines the minutiae of this craftsmanship. A triumphant hommage to Le Corbusier, Breuer and Eileen Gray.

Original Antonioni/Bergman poster sale

A NY poster boutique, Posteriati(link below), has recently put up 50's and 60's original film posters for sale. Included are rare prints from Michelangelo Antonioni and Ingmar Bergman classics. My personnal favorite is one 1970's print of the Czech version for Blow Up going for a mere 450.00 USD! Ouch...Obviously this collection is for serious collectors only, prices ranging from 75$ to a whopping 6000$ for an 1960 ultra-rare La Notte print! Posters are on exhibition until January 2008.

Pixel Rollers

I don't believe anyone has effectively managed to explain this gizmo to me.

Merry Kitschmas

How about that? 25 cm of snow actually being 1 cm of icy slush mixed with stinging hail...honestly I don't know what's worse. I sure am glad I don't own a car. On that note, I've decided I'm going full blown kitsch for this years' christmas, starting with these goodies I found on Etsy...ugliness is beautiful

Absurd Japanese Toy

...We're used to Japan's superior electronics companies ensuring they get new televisions, video games and cell phones before the rest of us, but who knew they'd get the second coming of our Savior a full three years before the rest of the world. You have to love the fact that they've decided to use the box to point out ways your Jesus Robot can help you get chicks. As if you needed them to tell you.

Stella Stackable Storage

Q Collection Junior's nursery furniture marries elements of style, such as classic proportions and modernist inspire details, with non-toxic materials that reduce or eliminate harmful effects to your child's health and the environment. Each piece uses formaldehyde-free glues and is finished with low-VOC paints and stains. Storage made fun!

While these are aimed for children's rooms, they could be used in a contemporary adult space if toned down to one or two colors. Doors can be removed for an asymmetrical look. Price ranges from 300-350$.

I was lucky to find a huge collection of cheap horror movies posters. Here are a few of my favorites. Ok maybe not all of them are horror movies...wink wink...

Jungle Pad

Matt Maranian first brought to us "L. A. Bizarro! The Insider's Guide to the Obscure, the Absurd and the Perverse in Los Angeles" who's title speaks for itself. He later went on to publish two books in the PAD series, one entirely devoted to the art of throwing parties!

"PAD is the contempory lifestyle guide for people with a discriminating sense of style."
His books are perfect for those seeking to improve their pads with low (or no) budgets. Maranian gives plenty of golden tips for bazaar hunting and loads of DIY projects!
