a Biehler-Weith Makeover

When an 80 year old lady asked Bielher-Weith Architects to renovate her typical white cube Bauhaus home, there seemed to be nothing extraordinary to be done. The firm, however, quickly grew enthusiastic visualizing the home's potential, which was the fact that it was built on a mountain with a view over a vast vineyard. The plan was to have new construction transcend the existing elements, not mask them. They added over sized windows and left the open spaces white creating a natural flow and breathable spaces. Finally, they wrapped the houses' facades in aluminum panelings (a project which has brought Biehler-Weith a first prize for aluminum architectural renovation).
